Weekend Holiday In The Hunter Valley
I’m heading up to the New South Wales wine country this weekend, better known as the Hunter Valley although also referred to as Pokolbin. There are a great number of wineries to visit, restaurants to eat at and guesthouses to stay in. One very nice guest house is the Dairy Farm Cottage, a three-bedroom self contained cottage that you can stay in all on your own or with a group of friends.
This place is the perfect place to base yourself as you hit the sights and places of interest in and around the Hunter Valley. It’s located quite close to such notable wineries as Peterson’s, Briar Ridge and Mount View Estate and is the perfect place to crash if you’re going up to enjoy one of the many concerts that are held at Bimbadgen Estate.
The lifestyle up in the Hunter is always a relaxed one and when it’s only a relatively short drive from Sydney there’s really no reason not to visit at least once a year. What better way to stock up on some quality wines with the region famous for its Semillon and Shiraz.
As the days grow longer there are more opportunities to enjoy everything that the Hunter has to offer. While there is a steady tourist trade moving through the area, it’s in no way overcrowded so there is absolutely no reason to shy away from visiting the place.
